Adtec Healthcare's Conference and Exhibition attendance dates for 2022

As we look forward to a promising year ahead, please find the dates of our conference and exhibition participation for 2022:

Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) Annual Meeting – 8-10 May 2022

Malvern Diabetic Foot Conference – 11-13 May 2022

European Wound Management Association (EWMA) – 23-25 May 2022

Diabetic Foot Study Group (DFSG) – 16-18 September 2022

We hope to see you at either of these conferences and as always, we will have our flagship medical device, the Adtec SteriPlas, on demonstration ready for you to test and to see all the benefits linked to our cold plasma strengths for wounds, surgical site infections and medical dermatology.

Promising, consistent and reliable results achieved with the Adtec SteriPlas

Whilst Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) have become essential mechanical pumps for patients who have had end stage heart failures, they are also prone to infections especially with the presence of biofilm that complicates treatment options. Cardiologists often rely on conventional antibiotic therapy but with rising antimicrobial resistance rates, they sometimes offer little to no help in achieving stabilisation.

The strong properties of the Adtec SteriPlas cold plasma has been proven to offer complete stabilisation of the LVAD system by destroying all forms of multi-resistant bacteria present, even if they are protected within biofilm. This is due to the unique cold plasma properties that can travel through the gaps around and down the driveline to reach the site of biofilm. This area would normally have been difficult to treat with conventional therapies such as antimicrobial dressings as they are hard to reach, but the Adtec SteriPlas has shown to travel to these sites with ease due to its remarkable antibacterial gaseous properties.

E-poster at the EADV 2021 Conference

We look forward to supporting Fiona Koch’s e-poster that will be live during the EADV 2021 Spring Symposium tomorrow. Tune in to their website to get full access to her poster, “Efficacy of cold atmospheric plasma versus diclophenac 3% gel in patients with actinic keratoses: a prospective, randomized and rater-blinded study (ACTICAP)”.

The Adtec SteriPlas featured in another Actinic Keratoses publication

We would like to congratulate Dr Mariachiara Arisi and her team at The Department of Dermatology, Brescia Hospital in Italy for their latest publication: “Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) for the Treatment of Actinic Keratosis and Skin Field Cancerization: Clinical and High-Frequency Ultrasound Evaluation”.

This publication features the Adtec SteriPlas and further demonstrates its efficacy for treating complicated Actinic Keratoses (AK) lesions. All patient enrolled into this study had previously shown resistance or intolerance to conventional field-directed therapies. The results of the study show how all patients who received treatment with the Adtec SteriPlas had significantly reduced AK lesions with the benefit of no side effects observed, quite the opposite for conventional therapies that often bear undesirable side effects. The Adtec SteriPlas continues to be a favoured treatment alternative for actinic keratoses by continuing to be faster-acting, safer and reliable.

Deutscher Wundkongress, Bremen 2019

Adtec Healthcare is excited to participate at the DEWU Deutscher Wundkongress in collaboration with other plasma medicine companies next week in Bremen.

https://www.bremer-pflegekongress.de/Teilnehmer_allgemeine_Informationen_w

The plasma medicine companies will introduce the different plasma technologies, product and clinical safety and introduce some of the clinical evidence gathered so far.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn more about gas plasma and we encourage you to attend the session to see the benefits of gas plasma in clinic practice.

Gas plasma shows promising results in the treatment of non-healing wounds

Renowned for its ability to successfully treat non-healing wounds, the Adtec SteriPlas is a must have for any dermatology and wound care departments.

This 61-year-old patient with a long-term venous ulcer was stalled from healing and present with Klebsiella oxytoca and Enterobacter cloacae. The patient went through a short treatment programme with our gas plasma medical device to achieve exceptional results. Figures (a) - (b) shows the visual changes of the ulcer throughout the short course of treatment with the Adtec SteriPlas.

Figure (a) shows the patient's ulcer at the start of the treatment
Figure (b) shows after 7 applications of our gas plasma.
Figure (c) shows after 11 treatments of our gas plasma.

At the end of the treatment programme, swabs which would normally have shown signs of bacteria were now sterile, allowing the patient to further progress into full healing.
